Join the Rhode Island Writing Project at Mystic Aquarium as we read like scientists and writers, explore the aquarium for both facts and beauty, and sketch/write integrated pieces inspired by Aimee Nezhukumatathil’s book "World of Wonders."

Aquarium containing fish and plants

We’ll share what we create and discuss ways to modify this experience for your own students, elementary through high school. Facilitators Jim Kaczynski (7th/8th grade science in Jamestown) and Brittany Richer Ahnrud (7th grade ELA in Jamestown) will share student-facing resources as well as work from former students that you can adjust and use in your own context.

Credits, Cost, and Registration

3 Professional Learning Unitys (PLUs) will be awarded to all participants. The cost is only $35 ($20 for ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ students), which covers the price of admission to the aquarium. Space is limited to 10 people, so register early to ensure your spot!
